Address, hours and contact details in Washington D.C.

The Embassy in Washington is the only Pakistani mission in the United States that is not a consulate general, and it works as both. It handles the diplomatic relationship with the United States government and it runs a consular section for the eight states around it. Its reach also crosses the water: Jamaica, the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic are covered from here, because Pakistan keeps no mission of its own in the Caribbean.

If you live in Maryland or Virginia, this is your office even though a very large Pakistani community sits closer to Philadelphia. Pennsylvania belongs here too, which surprises people who assume New York covers the whole Northeast.

Which states this office covers

8 of them, set by the Ministry circular of September 2012: It also covers Jamaica, Bahamas and Dominican Republic, because Pakistan keeps no mission of its own in the Caribbean.

District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia.

What you can settle without coming in

Four procedures left the counter entirely. If your errand is on this list, the distance to this office stops mattering.

A new passport is the one that still needs you in the room, because the photograph, the signature and the fingerprints are captured on the spot.

This is an independent guide. It is not the Government of Pakistan and it does not process applications, take bookings or collect fees. Always confirm details with the office that will handle your case.
