Where this office is and how to reach it

New York covers eleven states, and two of them are nowhere near it. The consulate sits in a townhouse on East 65th Street, a few doors from Central Park, and shares the address with Pakistan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations. Most of its work is passports, NADRA cards and attestations for the Northeast.

Two boundaries here catch everybody out. Wyoming belongs to New York, roughly 1,800 miles away, with three other consulates closer. Kentucky is also New York, not Chicago. Both are confirmed by three separate official sources, so they are the rule and not a typo. This consulate does not publish a telephone number on its website: the contact page has the label and no value behind it. Email is the route it offers.
