Pakistani consulate in Anchorage
Anchorage has no Pakistani consular office. The nearest one is in Los Angeles, and that is where applications from this part of Alaska are handled.
Where Anchorage is served from
No highway connects Anchorage to the mainland office in Los Angeles. Getting there means a flight, and that puts the cost of a wasted journey in a different bracket entirely.
The office that handles Alaska is the Consulate General of Pakistan, Los Angeles. That allocation comes from a 2012 Ministry circular and it does not bend for distance: applying at a nearer consulate is not an option.
What never needs the journey
- Visas are filed at visa.nadra.gov.pk
- Passport renewals go through onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk
- Powers of attorney are attested at poa.nadra.gov.pk
- Succession certificates are issued at succession.nadra.gov.pk
Most of what people drive to a consulate for no longer requires the drive. The trip is worth making for a new passport and little else.
