Philippine Consulate in Dededo, GU
There is no Philippine consulate in Dededo, and the consulate that covers it, the Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam, is not a casual trip: the journey is by air. That makes the order of this page deliberate: first what you can do from Dededo without travelling, then what genuinely requires the counter.
Where Dededo is served from
Every Philippine procedure for a Guam resident goes through Agana, Guam: its district is Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Marshall Islands. Distances from the other cities in the state are on the Guam page.
Because Dededo and Agana, Guam are not connected by road, every consular errand here starts with a flight booking. That is the argument for doing on paper everything that can be done on paper.
Watch for consular outreach missions before committing to the full journey. Consulates travel to underserved cities with passport biometrics and dual citizenship ceremonies; the appointments cost nothing, and for somewhere this far from the consulate a mission is usually the practical route. What you can settle from Dededo without travelling
Three of the most searched Philippine procedures in the United States are not consular procedures at all:
- Your PSA birth certificate or CENOMAR has to come from Manila. No consular office in this country can print one, and every other procedure asks for it.
- An apostille is issued by the Secretary of State of whichever state produced the document. The consulate stopped authenticating on 15 May 2019.
- For an NBI clearance the whole file travels by mail; a consular officer only witnesses the fingerprint card.
The counter is unavoidable for exactly three things: passport biometrics, the RA 9225 oath and signing a notarial document in front of an officer. Everything else deserves a second look before you drive.
